Mayan Riviera First Time

Going to Mayan Riviera in March with husband and two 15 yr old girls for the first time. Looking for all inclusive, beachfront 5star resort. Husband loves golf lots of choices for eating(not just buffets).
Girls and I love pool beach and activities.
Looking at Riu Playacar/Palace and Iberostar Paraiso Lindo.
Any other hotel suggestions would be helpful or destinations.

Thanks for your reply. Have you stayed at any RIU in the Mayan Riviera? I am
now looking at either the RIU Yucatan or Playacar any ideas. Not sure about Iberostar.........

I have stayed at the RIU Playacar. This is the newest of the three RIUs (exluding the Palace). It was a wonderful experience. Our one complaint is that you eat at 6:30 or 8:30. You are given a time when you arrive. If you would prefer the opposite then you have to request it and if it's available they will accomodate you. When we were there (December '01) the 6:30 sitting was the busier one. You also sit at the same table every night which is disappointing if you meet some others and want to eat together or if the two girls meet some friends and want to have a "girls dinner". The staff try to accomodate all your needs and desires but sometimes cant. March will also be a very busy time so changes may be difficult to arrange.
The food was good. Nothing spectacular but we were happy. We only ate in town one night and were disappointed with that meal. The steak restaurant at the hotel wasn't great either. Apparently the seafood one was good however I am allergic so we avoided it.
We had a comfortable clean room - no complaints there!
The stretch of beach it is on is amazing! WOW is all I can say. It's perfect!
Let me know if you have any other/more specific questions!

thanks Megg for your input. I really don't like the idea of the dinner schedules, we like to be more relaxed with that. Have you heard anything about the Iberostar Paraiso Beach? Looks like more eating choices and great pool area.

I've heard good things about IB* in general but there are differences between them. Try posting on www.mytravelboard4.com/playa/ or on
http://www.cancunandrivieramaya.com/...cun.cgi?#64884 If that is not the exact address just try the first part up the the .com and then search for the message boards. These boards are more specifically for that part of Mexico so you may find that you get more input.
