Krystal AI Resort - Cancun

Found a too good to be true deal for this all inclusive. Nothing current on here. Reviews seem to be favorable, but most tend to focus on Spring Break and partying. We are long past that stage, but enjoy a nice getaway with a nice room, good food and some water activities.

We would be interested in going this summer.

Any input?? Thanks~~

I read the offer more closely - it is through some 3rd party and there is clause that they reserve the right to put you in some other hotel if need be. So, as the sayings go - "you get what you pay for" AND "if it seems to good to be true..."

Walking away from this one...

There is good food at all inclusives, you just have to know which ones. Not all AI's are created equal and lumping them all together is not accurate. Katzgar, if you ever want an educational lesson on it I will be happy to help you since you still continue to insist on spewing inaccurate information on these forums about things you know absolutely nothing about. Didn't we already has a discussion like this before?

The Krystal has had it's issues over the years. Many of the Cancun hotels have upgraded and trying to get away from that Spring Break mentality. However, some have still maintained that low standard/budget price that meet well with younger adults. The best thing about the Krystal is the location. Within walking distance to lots of things. However, it would never be my first choice for an AI in Cancun.

If budget allows, The Royal Cancun, is probably the nicest AI in Cancun. IMHO. It is adults/couples only. The beach has had some issues, so read the current reviews, but we are more pool people, so not an issue to us.

If you are a beach person, the hotels at the top of "7" in the hotel zone and beyond will have the better, calmer beaches. The Excellence Playa Mujeres and the Excellence Riviera Cancun gets really good reviews, but are located about 20 miles from the hotel zone in Cancun.

Are you set on Cancun? The AI resorts in the Playa del Carmen/Mayan Riviera area have better choices and much closer to many of the more popular activities. Is there any specific amentites that you are looking for in a hotel?

I wasn't really looking for Cancun; it's just that deal for Krystal ended up in my email box and it was $199 for 4 nights. That got me thinking.... I will look at the places you have suggested, thanks.

As far as AI goes, I used to work for Club Med and am aware that there are many AI that are really nice and the food is quite good.

It's not one of the AI's I'd consider in Cancun...don't know how picky you are, though...

Don't know how long you plan for, but luxury link has some great deals on Mexico. I just bought a package for Secrets the Vine, 3 nights in the honeymoon suite for $900...it looks gorgeous. (It was 1000, but found a promo code that took $100 off). A regular room for 3 nights was a lot less...
