Jade shopping in Antigua

Does anyone have recommendations for buying jade in Antigua? Where are the best places to shop? Are the prices reasonable?

Nancy did you ever find out about jade shopping in Antigua? I will be traveling there in October and I'm very interested in purchasing jade.

I just returned from Guatemala in mid Feb. Yes there is Jade! We did a city walking tour with Elizabeth Bell and one of the stops was in a Jade shop/factory.

I wasn't allowed to buy anything this time because last year I went a little overboard in the Amber shop.

Thanks Suzie2. I know my husband will not be happy with my shopping since I usually go overboard myself. I will definitely check out this shop.

The Jade Factory we visited was also on a walking tour and it was very interesting. We got a short orientation about the different kinds of jade, where they come from, how the Maya used jade and saw artisans at work. Got a free sample of a small "cup" of coffee which was also for sale there. They had some beautiful jewelry, but I managed to resist. LOL Admired the beautiful patio with bougenvillia (?spelling) and helaconia. Also clean restrooms available.
