Got a fender bender on rental & turning in sat. Help!

I crunched the front fender on my Solid rental car and am turning it on may 5.
I used my American Express for the rental and denied coverage through the rental co.

Any idea what I will need to do? Has anyone had this happen?

Any suggestions will be most appreciated (sigh...)

We had a car accident while renting with Avis in New Zealand. We had to report the accident immediately by filling out details in the accident form included with the rental paperwork and turning it in at the nearest office. They then took the full excess from our card. The damages were less than the excess so eventually when the total was worked out we were refunded the difference.

Then, we separately had to make a claim (after getting the final receipts) with our other insurance.

I'm not sure if it is different in Costa Rica.

I would call both Solid and Am X asap and also ask what else they need you to do.

I hope you checked to see if your home car insurance covers you in foreign countries.

Agree, I'd call Solid, AmEx, and your car insurance agent to see what they tell you. Did you fill out a police report?

That stinks - sorry that happened to you.
