Casa Que Canta or Maroma??

I know it might be an impossible choice but I was wondering if anyone has stayed at both properties. I have been to Casa Que Canta and adored it but was thinking of trying Maroma as I have heard wonderful things about that property too. Any thoughts?

Thank you so much!

I will not be much help because I've yet to stay at either, but I've researched both. Casa que Canta probably has the better rooms, Maroma the better location. The beach there looks wonderful, and I think I read here on Fodors that Maroma has very luxurious bathrooms. I'd choose Maroma to be on that beautiful Caribbean beach...But then Casa looks like a dream, too! Let us know what you decide.
PS -- CN Traveler gives Maroma an 81.1 score, La Casa an 87.4~for what that's worth~!

Thank you Frankie! I never know if I can trust those magazine ratings! I'm afraid Maroma is TOO secluded and I am worried by recent reports that the expansion has changed the spirit of the place. I think the rooms at Casa que Canta are probably a little bit nicer too. I think we're going back to Casa que Canta!

hi again!
You know, so far, I've pretty much agreed w/ CN Traveler for the hotels I've visited...
Have a great time at Casa Que Canta and please write back with a trip report! Thanks!

www.lacasaquecanta.com

We ate there one time and it was pricy but great. If I ever find a pot of gold, I want to stay there.
