Your opinion on Best Western Paddington Court Hotel and Suites-London

I guess the title speaks for itself. ;I wonder if anyone has stayed at the Best Western Paddington Court Hotel and Suites in the not too distant past. Am considering it for a late November stay. Would like to hear your experiences. Much appreciated. Thank you. Halfpint

I didn't stay here, but I stayed at a hotel near there so we passed it every day. It looks very nice from the outside and it very close to the train station. We liked our hotel very much so if you want info on it, let me know.

Stayed last year. The hotel is very tourist class in my opinion. Well used, small rooms, but ok for a night or two on a budget. Accross the street are the Suites which are much, much better and newer. The general area was fine with a good selection of places to eat.

Thank you for both replies. We have stayed a few times at Bayswater Inn and that was definitely touristy and the continental breakfast left a lot to be desired and this Best Western claims they have a full English breakfast included, which sounded tempting. The hotel you stayed at across the road, what was the name of that one? However this Best Western is being offered EXTREMELY reasonable with a flight thrown in (or obviously vice versa) so am considering it, for 7 nites. I realize it would not be fancy, however if clean, adequate and included that breakfast, might be very worthwhile. Have always enjoyed that area. Any replies appreciated. thanks much. halfpint

to radiofanatic;Looking for a flight from Lansing Mi to Detroit, then London and found if we went Delta instead of NW like we planned, Microsoft travel I believe it was, had a package with the flight and the hotel for about $800 per and did say with all taxes which of course is important. That is why I wondered about the hotel. I could not be anymore basic than the Bayswater inn, to our estimation. Let me know all you know, where did you stay across the road you said? Halfpint

We used a gotoday package this past March for $1000 total for 2 from Albany, NY - they have another sale on now for $399 pp from NYC. They have the hotel we stayed at - the Cordova House Hotel. Although it is a budget hotel, the bathroom was beautiful with blue tile everywhere - the room was immaculate and it had doors open onto a baby balcony on the street. The people were nice there and we LOVED the neighborhood. We really felt like we were in residential London and it was only 2 blocks to Paddington Station so it was easy access to everything. Our favorite pub with amazing fish and chips was the Mitre which was a 1/2 block to the left (if your back was to the hotel), then take a right, to one block and the pub was on the right - the pub was beautiful and authentic (we were the only non english people there) and AMAZING fish and chips. We are planning on staying at this hotel again in February b/c we liked it so much and my husband is very very very picky about where he stays. If you want any additional info, let me know.

Hi radiofanatic. Did just look that up and would have been about like ours when adding the additional flight, plus the taxes, etc but certainly appreciate the idea and THEN also noticed our dates are on the BLACKOUT timing, Oh well. but appreciated all the info. As mentioned, we have always enjoyed that area, as you say, like being where REAL PEOPLE LIVE. Have a great day. Halfpint

If you can find a good flight, you may still want to consider the Cordova House - the rooms were about 45 E a night.

to radiofanatic. I did make our flight arrangements last night and will do the hotel today, the Cordova Hotel as you mentioned. Am assuming it says breakfast goes with it (buffet), was that pretty good, not just continental. I would like to be able to corresponde directly with you as we could exchange ideas. How do we do that? And thanks for your ideas so far as your suggestion got me to that hotel, have looked at hundreds more. Did you have to indicate you wanted a room with like you said, nice bathroom and the tiny balcony (sounds like the ones in Italy). Perhaps just luck.
Hopefully more later. halfpint

sure halfpint! The buffet was mostly continental - rolls, pastries and cereals, but for the price, I didn't care! there are also cute little shops for food around if you want more. If you have any questions, as we did day tours too, my email is [email protected]
