Which is the best way from Atocha to Barajas?
We will be leaving Valencia from the Joaquin Sorolla station (AVE) on October 7th (Sunday) in the 0800 train. This train will put us in the Atocha station at 0950. My question is which is the best way to get to Barajas?
Anyone used the Línea Expres Aeropuerto - EMT Madrid shuttle? The website claims that for 5Eu it takes you to the airport in 40min. Is it reliable? Its a Sunday so traffic should not be an issue. Hopefully.
Or should we just take a taxi? Flight is at 1315, we have preferred check in so this -should- not be too bad, right?

Which terminal? If you fly from T4, you can take the train (Cercanías line C1) from Atocha.
Otherwise I would not know of a better connection than the express bus you mentioned.
Traffic should indeed not be much of a matter.
If you run late (which hardly ever happens with the extremely on-time long distance trains), a taxi won't ruin you.

Don't waste your money on a taxi!
The bus is wonderful, just walk out of Atocha, cross the street and look for the bus stop-easy to spot because of otheres waiting with luggage! It makes it to Barajas usually in about 30 minutes-especially on a Sunday! It's easy on/off and air conditioned. You will be the first ones on the bus so I would sit in the seats near the rear exit door and get ready to get off as soon as it approaches your terminal.
I took it twice last year when it was half the fare-a bargain but still a great deal at 5 euros!

Marigross: the buss without any doubt; quick, comfortable and cheap; it stops at every terminal in Barajas.Hope you will enjoy your visit to Spain; we were there last june and are returning for just 2 days, as a stop next september.

You already know a taxi, expensive as it is, is going to be more comfortable, convenient, and actually faster than any bus since it leaves for the airport immediately after you close the door and does not stop at any other terminal besides your actual destination.
