Bailey, I think my post is what you are referring to.
Maybe you missed this posters comments, so I copied it for you.
Looks like the bus isn't running any longer.

I walked from the terminal to the taxi dock a few months ago with a large rollaboard suitcase. It was not a problem, and the directions were clear (follow the icons for the water taxi).
It is a fairly long walk (i'd guess 300-400 metres). Too bad they discontinued the shuttle bus; I took that bus from the taxi dock to the terminal on my return trip, and it was very convenient.

The bus was running in early Feb 2006 - I took it! So I'm still not sure where the info that it's been stopped is coming from.
The walk itself is very easy at about 10 minutes - I've done it in all weathers and with lots of luggage. It's actually quite a nice stretch of the legs after sitting cooped up in a plane.

Thanks everyone!!
I've been to Venice several times...always used the bus to the Alilaguna dock.
I thought it was odd that the bus service was discontinued...I was wondering what the 'special needs' individuals were doing.....
.......
I guess that they are still riding the bus!!! lol

It's not far to walk at all and there are trolleys available at both ends. Most of the walkway is covered.
As far as I can remember, you have to put a Euro in a slot to release a trolley but can't remember if you get it back at the other end.

End Result:
I just confirmed a private water taxi from Marco Polo Airport to the Casa Rezzonico for 10 people including one piece of luggage for each person. This booking was done through the hotel.
The rate is 130 euro door-to-door. A driver will meet us inside the airport. Not a bad deal, and all of us feel good about our decision.
