where to stay in Zurich

We are traveling to Zurich in August with two teenagers, can anyone recommend a nice hotel.

Thanks.

Budget issues? Location issues?

I don't know that much about Zurich so I'm not sure of location, what would be the best? Budget probably no more than $225-$250 per room, I need two.

I have stayed many times at Hotel St. Josef. www.st-josef.ch It is extremely clean, very helpful staff, and the best breakfast ever. It is located about 3 blocks from the train station. I think they may have family rooms with a small kitchenette also.

We stayed at Hotel St. Josef in summer 2008 and it is clean with a very nice breakfast. I did like that it was close to the train station (although up a huge flight of stairs) but it seemed kind of off the beaten path for many restaurants, shops, etc. . . Our room reminded me of a dorm room - without an ounce of charm. If aesthetics make a difference to you, I'd look elsewhere. If you don't care about a charming hotel room, then St. Josef would be fine.

I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Zürichberg very much. It's up on a hill on the edge of town with a nice lake view. It feels like a lovely park setting. The tram is not far but there is a hill to walk back up to the hotel. Room rates are moderate.

Another vote for the St Josef.

Thanks to all of you who recommended the hotel St. Josef. Keith and I will be staying at this hotel when we are in Zurich for two nights before we head to Wengen in August.

Cheers,
Thin

count me in for St. Josef. Nice location & agreed the best breakfast. Our group was so sad to have to rush through it to catch our train into Lauterbrunnen.
We also had a wonderful dinner at Le Dezaley in Zurich. WONDEFUL! do not pass up dessert.
