Where to stay in Verona? Outside of city OK?
Anybody have recommendations on places to stay in Verona for 3 nights? Last minute changes to our itenerary (an attempt to correct our rookie mistake of trying to do too much) is forcing us to give up a reservation that we'd made.
Also, for any who've been to Verona, would it be too inconvenient to stay in a B&B 14 km outside of the city in Caldiero?
Thanks again for help!

verona is a walking city that you need to stay inside the walls ofto fully appreciate this delightful city day and night.
there are two sets of walls and inside the outer is cheaper but still only a 5 to 10 minute walk into centro .
plenty of good hotels along corso porta nuova we stayed in the grand hotel for 3 nights last year and it was very good

Hotel Bologna, just off Piazza Bra, is in a good location, reasonable and clean. It gets good reviews on www.tripadvisor.com.

If you are eating dinner late or attending something at the Arena at night, you may need a car to get back to your outside-the city accommodations. Do you want to deal with that?
If you can, do stay in the old city center. It allows you to wander at night & simply enjoy Verona, as the other poster said. I don't know your budget, but the Residence Verona House was a terrific option for us. About a 5 minute walk from the Piazza Bra. In summer during the festival time, it isn't a budget accommodation, though.

Unfortunately, most of the hotels mentioned were booked for the period we'll be there. In the end, we decided to keep our original reservation at Residenze San Faustino for 2 nights and spend the third night at I Costanti in Caldiero. Personally I think one night staying outside of the city might be nice.
Thanks for all the advice! I wish we'd decided to make revisions sooner so we'd have had more options... guess I'll do that on the next trip (which I'm already planning in the back of my head).
