Where to stay in Prague
We are a mid-60s couple who want to stay quite central to minimize walking. But we don't want to be in a bar/party area. What do you think of the location of this apartment?:

the location is fine, near to Old Town square and close enough to trams and metros if you need to use them. The nearby street Dlouha has lots of bars ,resturants etc there and can be lively but the street your apartment is in is pretty quiet.

I agree with unclegus
Your location is pretty good.
A short walk tothe Old Town Square and also a short walk to the Repblic Square where most of the tours start from.
You can landmark the Republic Square by the Powder Tower, which is a tower that looks like one the the Charles Bridge Towers.
There is a nice building here at the Republic Square that you will want to see anyway, called the Municipal House.

The municiple house is a muct visit, you can do a tour ,go for a concert or visit one of the cafes/bars resturants in the building. The main cafe area is lovely and they often have live jazz music on in the sfternoons.Great place for a coffee and cake stop.I was last in Pargue about 6 weeks ago but i am a regular visitor there. In the area near to Namesti Republiky was a really nice open air market, lots of craft stalls, beer and food,I bought quite a few gifts there, a hand made ceramic beer mug, lots of wooden kitchen impliments , beer and fresh bread to take home.
If you fancy trying some of the Great Czech beers the Beer Museum pub on Dlouha has a range of about 30 and you can get a try of sample glasses, run by an American expat it is a great [lace but can get real busy at nights.
