I am a solo woman traveler, I am planning a 5 day trip to Paris and I would like recommendations on some hotels. I have a limited budget but I would like something close to transportation, clean, quiet, safe, and not too far out from attractions. Thank you in advance!

Thank you for bringing that up. This trip will take place at the end of September and my budget is up to 90 Euros per night.

At that budget, you are looking for hotels outside of the city center, and with short time on the ground, I would want to be as close to the center as possible.

Maybe the easiest way to look for hotels is to use the TripAdvisor map search option: throw in your dates and filter to show hotels under 90 Euros, and you'll see the options you have and where each is located.

Three to check into that are around your threshold are:

There are hotels in the city center within that budget. Not a lot, but there are some.

the last one is the Gobelins quarter which is definitely Paris proper and not that far out, but the others are very close to the Seine if that's a desire. I like the Gobelins area a lot, that hotel is in a quiet area but just within a block of a metro stop, it wouldn't be as hectic around there. Depends what you want. The one before that is in Montparnasse, the area I usually stay, it's also convenient but not dead center, which I like. Lots of restaurants, etc., and transportation options.

There are plenty others also not dead center, like this in Oberkampf area (which is quite lively)

You may also consider hostels. I've never stayed in a Paris hostel so I can't vouch for any, but there appear to be several in the center which come in well under your budget.

If you go this route, research the hostels carefully as I have experienced wildly different degrees of quality over the years at different hostels.

I would avoid the tourist center since most of the scams and unwanted attention are directed to people in those areas. If you stay in one of the outer arrondissements, you will not have to deal with such things and you will pay lower prices for accommodations and meals.

As for getting to some of the tourist sites, you might have to add 10 minutes to the metro timings.

good idea, I think it depends on language, but I consider anything inside the peripherique to be in the city center. Perhaps Edward meant somethign different. But the outer arrondisements are fine, I usually stay in one myself, just a bit cheaper. Even that Port Royal hotel I gave is in a quieter area as it's on the border of the 5th and 13th.
