Where should we go tomorrow in southern France - crowd source our trip!
The rural life is just not as fun when it is unseasonably cold and rainy. We have 2 days to figure out. We are near perpignan/Maury now and have booked in uzes for Thursday and beyond. Where should we go for next two days? Thinking Montpellier perhaps, plus we could go to the caves for a bit. Other options beziers nimes narbonne Arles. Need something with rainy day fun ie museums and/or shopping and some good eats.

Caves don't seem much fun in the cold and rain to me. I'd go to Montpellier but really Arles or Narbonne would be fine, also, both nice cities. I don't know about the shopping thing, these aren't shopping cities which to me means Paris or something.

Montpellier is interesting even in bad weather. You might want to go to Millau and see the viaduct as well, not to mention the lovely small city.
I enjoy wandering and discovered a number of interesting things on my trip in the area: http://tinyurl.com/833kyta

Good eats : have lunch tomorrow at Auberge du Cellier in Montner (near Estagel) or Auberge du Puits in Fontjoncouse (Michelin star)or O Bontemps in Magalas near Béziers.
Caves : Grotte des Demoiselles and Grotte de Clamouse are near Montpellier.
Musée Fabre in Montpellier is top class - has been completely renovated last year.
