Where can I buy a money-belt??

I'll be leaving for Europe in two weeks and I keep seeing posts with people talking about money-belts worn underneath your clothing. Where can I get one of these? Do regular department stores carry them?

Bentley's Luggage which is in malls in the southeast carries a couple of money belts. You wear one around your waist inside your clothing and the other one is designed to be worn around the neck. Any store that specializes in luggage will carry them.

There's a California company called Travelsmith that probably has a web site. Lots of good things for travel. Do a yahoo search.
In Michigan I see travel stores in most malls and they have one or more varieties of money belts. If you live too far from malls (is there such a place left?), Rick Steves has them by mail. Site on the web is www.ricksteves.com I believe. Whatever you do, don't go without one. Better safe than robbed! When you don't have to worry about your money, then you can just enjoy yourself, which is the whole point. Right?

REI (Recreational Equipment, Inc.) has a very good moneybelt. If there isn't one near you, check the Internet for it, or if there is a camping, ski, hiking, etc. store near you check there.

They can be purchased at any travel supply store. There is a retailer/wholesaler called Magellan's International that sells a host of travel supplies - anything and everything you can think of. I believe they have a website that you can order things from. They are based out of Santa Barbara, CA.
Try any AAA office. They carry all types of money belts along with misc. travel items. Luggage too.

You may also try The Container Store. Another web site to try is www.walkabouttravelgear.com.

Allan, if you insist on answering old questions, just post them all on one new post and do a question and answer session between you and yourself.

Maybe this is stupid, but: I have noticed that my money got wet after being stucked a whole day in my money belt. A brand new 100 bill became like it had been used for hundred years...

We were discussing the use of money belts on the continent, not by the incontinent.

RE: Soggy bills

Had the same thing happen to me in Italy one summer. thankfully, I had a small plastic baggie and just put the money and passport inside. It works just fine, except make sure your money belt is closed as the plastic makes it
easy for it to slide out.

I am the guy who posted the dumb question, but - nevertheless- I agree that ugh's reply was funny indeed.
Obviously I wasn't talking about money getting wet because of incontinecy
