There is a chance we might go to a wedding in Poland next year. The groom is Polish while the bride is an Indian Hindu from Trinidad and they met and live in New York. I am long time friend of the bride.
He is from the area of Poland near the German frontier.
If you can please tell me about some of the traditions and another information that might be relevant, I would greatly appreciate it.
I have never been to Poland but we are long time independent travellers and ironically some of my family comes from a town called Łobżenica, even though we do not speak a word of Polish.
A few years ago I tried to get information about my family but could not and the groom also tried recently and he could not.
Thank you

W.A.....help is on the way!
Thank you Stu.
I'd love to hear about the traditions and customs of Polish (presumably Catholic?) and Hindu weddings. This should be a very interesting event, and I hope you give a full report when you get back.
Thank you Jean. If we go, there shall be a full, if not, irreverent report. They are two very kind people.
W.A. What does Stu know that I don't? Anyways this is a great web site, where you can post messages in any country and get answers in return. I received 50 potential living people with addresses from a lovely woman. www.genforum.genealogy.com Wroclaw is on the bordor. Used to be a German city, but now is in Poland. Much bombing in WW2, but the restoration of the city is impressive. We enjoyed our two nights there, although not the hotel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wroclaw My favorite web site for downloads www.inyourpocket.com Hey Adu; Our friends in Austria, Raja, Hindu from India, turned Catholic and Berti, Austrian.
Hy adu, If you are going to Kraków, here our my four days there (with photos). Might give you some ideas. Great city, Good vibe.
