Poland & Lithuania: Trip Report (the short version)

Krakow: medievally. Hotel Trecius:good.
Eat kebabs. Go to salt mines.

Auschwitz: sad. But go.

Warsaw: surprisingly fun. Uprising Museum--v. good

Bus to Druskininkai, Lithuania: use the rest stops. Arrive at 3AM. Nothing's open.

Grutas Park: Bad communists. Bad sculpture.
But good park.

Vilnius: Churches, singing. Frank Zappa.
Trakai: castle on lakes

Kaunas: ped street. Guesthouse Nemunas Tour: good; homey

Curonian Spit: yay, pine and the Baltic!

Hill of Crosses; self-explanatory

London: Ben Franklin house: new

(For those who like the longer version, it's here: http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34841274
but I thought that I'd better do the Cliff's Notes version for the benefit of those with shorter attention spans.)

Interesting to note that the short version got more responses than the long one; perhaps CW was right!
On the other hand, the responses are mostly from people whose user names are, I assume, shortened...

(ponder, ponder)
