Walking tour Vienna

Has anyone used either the Vienna Guide (Wienguide at www.wienguide.at) English walking tours or the Vienna Walks & Talks (www.viennawalks.com) for walking tours in Vienna?

If so, which ones would you suggest?

I'd also be glad to hear of any other walking tour guide you've had in Vienna that was a good experience.

We'll be there over Christmas and would like to do a walking tour, perhaps of the Old City ("Stephansdom to Hofburg Palace&quot or of the Jewish Quarter.

the jewish walking tour is quite interesting and takes you to some parts of the city you would not be drawn too. simply meet at the pickup point, pay, and go with the group. also, if you are interested, have your passport with you and visit the main synagogue in the block that was not destroyed by the nazis because the synagogue was located smack in the middle.

Thanks. We will be there in winter and may not want to be walking for hours outside.

as anyone used the bus tours? Is it better to do a sightseeing trip or a hop-on-hop-off?

We toured Vienna with a private guide this past May and thought it was well worth it. I'll try to remember and post the guide's contact info when I get home this afternoon. Also, it's very easy to get around Vienna using public transportation. We bought a day ticket for around €5 that allowed travel on all the PT. We, along with our guide used it to travel from place to place.
