Have you visited the Vienna tourist office website-
It has a list of guides their expertise , languades, tours etc.
Vienna tour guides to receive certification and receive their red/ white badge - receive much training , takes tests to confirm knowledge and ability - so you do not have those deciding one day to become a guide and obtain this certification.
The Timmerman family is a recognized name with several family members with knowledge.

A former student of mine (I taught him English in his company for many years - really lovely guy with excellent English) totally changed his career path a couple of years ago and decided to train to become a tour/tourist guide, which was his always his dream job. He started guiding earlier this year.
If you send me your email address, I can forward it to him.
