Depends where in Munich! I'm living in Munich and driving a bigger car. Parking is no problem at all if you're either willing to pay or know where to look at a given time of day for a free spot.
During the day, it'll be difficult, if it has to be something free. If you pay, it's no problem at all, anytime.
Or use Park+Ride and park for free or a nominal fee at one of the many parking lots at S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations and take the train into town.
If you say where you will be staying, it should be easy to give you directions.
Unless you love driving in large cities, leave the car where you are staying and take public transpo into Munich. You'll not saving money if you have to pay to park. Driving in any big city isn't fun.
For your information, when I go to Munich for the Oktoberfest I find a (free) place to park the car and use public transportation until I get ready to leave. In my experience it is cheaper than turning the car in and starting a new car rental when I leave Munich. Cowboy1968 has a good solution if you really don't want to stay in Munich...
