Venice: Best place to turn in rental car?

Venice: Best place to turn in rental car?
We arrive Venice after a trip by rental car. We are going to turn in the car and go into Venice for a few days. My question: Where is the best place to turn in the Hertz car? Airport or Train station? The lady at Hertz had no idea. Any suggestions?

If you search Piazzale Roma on this site there are lots of old posts answering this question. We, on several visits to Venice, always dropped the car off (or picked up) at Piazzale Roma.
Then, you are right there to hop on a vaporetto to your hotel.

We decided to drop car at airport. It was easy. We then took boat to St. Marks and walked to hotel. Hertz kept telling me to go to airport and would never allow a change online. I tried. All in all, no big deal.
