URGENT: About booking hostels

Hello,

So, I've booked a hostel on hostelworld.com with a Visa.. My question is, am I expected to pay the balance due when I arrive with the same credit card? Or will I be allowed to pay with a different card/cash? Please let me know because this has made me very nervous. Thank you!

This can depend on the individual Hostel, but usually the balance can be paid by any means required (original credit card, different credit card, sometimes cash, first born...). Take the booking reference number issued to you by hostelworld and you will be able to check in with that and ID. If you are very concerned, email the hostel in question and take the reply with you in case of any issues.

I've never known any lodging that would turn down a cash payment. I don't think you will have a problem.

Don't you have your booking confirmation? Take that with you.

And please chill out. If this has made you very nervous then you must a wreck about the rest of the trip. Traveling is supposed to be fun.

I think what you paid already is the service fee of about 10% that goes to the booking site and not to the hostel. As said above you can pay the rest with whichever means that the hostel accepts usually, cash of course ! and others.

As the others have said, you'll be fine paying with cash or any card that the hostel accepts. My kids have done this many many times and have never had a problem.

Now relax, think happy travel thoughts and have fun!
