Transportation from Budapest airport to Marriott on the Danube river

Transportation from Budapest airport to Marriott on the Danube river
Arriving a day early for our cruise in two weeks and cannot purchase transfers from Viking since we are coming in early, What is our best option to go the 12-14 miles to our hotel. Should we convert some move to forints or will euros be accepted?

We took a train in from the airport. It's right there, very easy to use. We bought tourist cards at the airport,they allows unlimited travel on the local trams, trains, and subway in the city. Think it was available for 24 or 48 hours or more.

Please don't confuse people if you are not aware of the current situation. Probably you've been flying out of Ferihegy 1, which was shut down 5 years ago!
From Budapest airport you have to walk to the bus, then 10 minutes by bus and only then you'll have the train station.
The best option nowadays is taking a new bus route #100E
100E bus line departs from Terminal 2 of the airport every 30 minutes between 5am and 12:30am, and it stops at Kálvin Square and Astoria before it reaches its Deák Square terminus.

Cost of the journey is 3.00 Euro a piece. Travel time 35-60 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
From Deák tér you can take a tram to your boat. However adding all the bus/tram costs you'll DEFINITELY be better off with the comfortable taxi.
Also there are official airport taxi companies, like Fő Taxi or City taxi. There's a dispatcher right next to the exit, he calls the cab for you. They are all metered, estimated cost around 25.00 Euro to your cruise ship.
Taxi take plastic or HUF in cash.
Euros probably would be accepted but at a 10-15% lower rate of their value.
DO NOT CHANGE Money at the airport proper!!! Their rate is the king of the Budapest rip-offs!!!

1) Use local currency, ie HUForint or plastic
2) there has been a history of dodgy taxi firms at the airport (s), I'd ask your hotel which company is best, you want a fixed price
3) Don't convert at airport but you can take forints out of ATMs at the airport, last time I was there they also had a EURO ATM and it was written in big letters down the side as to currency, things may have changes as okszi says

Hi the official taxi f the airport is Főtaxi.
You have to walk outside of the Arrivals Hall, you will see FŐ taxi's booth is to the left, 10 meters (30 feet). It's signposted.
Tell them your destination and a taxi will be there in a few moments.
Concerning the EURO ATM signed cash machines, I personally wouldn't use the. Especially the one at the airport. They have the worst exchange rates ever. In most cases charged by their Euronet company, and your home bank, as well as some intermediary international transactions bank. In Hungary most of the Forex transactions go through the OTP bank.
Better stick to a normal one, belonging to a bank, like:
Erste, OTP, Raiffeisen, CIB, K&H bank, etc, etc.
