Transportation advice, Cologne Bonn
Need transportation advice for a day-trip from Cologne to Bonn and back, for two people.
I was planning to purchase a North Rhine-Westphalia regional day pass for 43 Euro for two, and take the frequent DB trains between the 2 cities from one Hbf to the other Hbf. But I just read that there are metro lines (#16 and #18) connecting Cologne and Bonn. However, I have no idea how frequent these metro run, or what they cost.
In Bonn we just plan to wander through the old town plaza and market square to Beethoven-Haus. How would you advise me to go from Cologne to Bonn and back for this purpose?
Thanks in advance.

€43 is too much. You can buy the VRS day pass for 2-5 persons. Cologne-Bonn-Cologne is price level 4 (€25.30.) Buy it from a Cologne station ticket machine. You can use the local/regional DB trains (no high speed trains) or trams as you please with this day pass - just travel after 9 am (same restriction as the NRW day pass you mention.)
