TGV extended booking horizon for summer 2012

Normally used to responding to posts so forgive me if this isn't the right place to post (and feel free to correct!)

Just wanted to let anyone who is thinking of taking the TGV over the next few months know that the booking horizon has been extended and it a lot longer than the usual 92 days.

I have written a little more about it over here:

http://loco2.com/blog/2012/04/french...iday-discount/

I hope one day trains will be bookable many months in advance as standard!

There is such as thing as not knowing exact car/train schedule far in advance which would make that impracticable. I think people are too OCD about this already, there isn't any need to book trains months and months in advance.

If you want to travel for a lot cheaper and you have figured out your itinerary it's practicable. I think the number of questions around advance fares on this forum make it worth shouting about. It's not OCD to save money on fares, you wouldn't rock up to an airport to get a ticket on the day, it's no less organised and no more OCD than that for trains imho.

Well I, for one, think it was very informative to learn of the extended window of time to book the train. And I also think many visitors have a pretty decent idea of when they want to take a train, so booking as far ahead is not only possible but practical. I am waiting to book a train in mid-October, so I am very aware of window to do so.

My only question about the site linked above is if it a business as the is a comment about booking thru loco2 and even a way to book directly from that site??

The first-class TGV prem's tickets are great deals and if the window is extended, all the better.

They do sell out; I left it too long to get a friend to Paris from Toulouse on May 20, nothing in first class under 100€.
