We are planning a trip out to the Mall and to the Prada outlet in a few weeks. We want to shop at both locations on one day. Any idea on the cost to get from downtown Florence (We are staying at the Hotel Lungarno) to the Prada outlet, taxi from Prada to Mall and taxi back to Florence?
Taxi or hired car

I love the Lungarno, great hotel. WIth great concierge service. Email the Lungarno, and they will answer your questions as well or better than anyone here. I am sure that they can arrange for whatever makes the most sense for you.
I have already contacted the hotel. They can arrange a driver for 70 to 90 Euro per hour. We will be shopping all day and I don't want to pay those prices for a car sitting in a parking lot. I will talk to the Concierge again once I arrive.
Take cabs. It's easier, simpler and you pay for the time you're in it and the distance you go.
You could also take the train from Santa Maria Novella station to Rignano sull'Arno and then a quick taxi ride from there to the Mall. Or a Sita bus from the Sita bus station near the SMN station on via Santa Caterina da Siena 17.
Or the Mall runs a shuttle (or they used to, better check on that) www.themall.it/en/visit/how-to-get-here/shuttlebus
