Hello I will arrive Rome and want to go visit st peters basilica. Can i leave my luggage at the train station while I go tour the Vatican?

Is that ALL you're going to do in Rome? Because if you have a hotel reservation the hotel will hold your luggage.

I left my luggage at the train station and visited Orvieto before catching a train to the airport.
Give yourself PLENTY of time as there will be a line when you drop off your bags and an even longer one when you go back to pick them up. It took me 40 minutes to retrieve my bags and I had to run for the train!
