Stonehenge: Built for Rock Concerts?

Lots of speculation thru the ages on the purpose of Stonehenge, on the Salisbury Plains in England - now wags speculate that the behemoth stones themselves may have been transported many miles here because of their musical tones.
Meaning the stones may have always played a role like they will this Summer Solstice when an eclectic crowd gathers to evoke ceremonies from ancient times at Stonehenge.
Maybe the Rolling Stones, nearly as old as Stonehenge it seems, should be playing there!

Come to think of it, bearing in mind Stonehenge was around for as long before the Romans as from the Romans to us (almost as long as the Stones have been with us), it could have had no end of different meanings and uses for different generations. We turn churches into concert halls after a fraction of that sort of time. So who knows?

since everyone seems to think it's based on the summer solstice
Modern thinking is that it's based on the Winter Solstice
But if you want real rock music - try the Vittala Temple Complex in Hampi.
