Stalheim or Balestrand for Overnight on Nutshell Tour?

Stalheim or Balestrand for Overnight on Nutshell Tour?
I can't decide between the Stalheim Hotel in Stalheim and the Kviknes Hotel in Balestrand for a one night stop on the Norway in a Nutshell tour at the end of June.
I believe I can leave Stalheim for Voss and then Bergen in the morning, but I'm not sure about getting from Balestrand to Bergen in the morning. I think there's a 7:55 boat that takes 4 hours to get to Bergen.
Has anyone stayed in both hotels, or either of the two? Which is the better experience?

We've stayed at both. The Stalheim is very easy to get off at during the Nutshell Tour. Getting to Balestrand is more complicated, unless you go directly from Flam, missing the Naerofjord (sp?), which is one of the highlights of the Nutshell Tour. We took a fast morning boat from Balestrand to Bergen, which got us to Bergen in about 3 hours, I think. (It's possible it was 4.) The two places are quite different. Kviknes is set on the fjord and is a resort of sorts. The Stalheim is at the top of a ridge and is a more "rustic" hotel. We enjoyed them both.
