Small group for Colosseum
We booked a morning Walks of Italy VIP Colosseum tour for an upcoming trip. Then I got an email that the tour was overbooked, and they can offer us a 1:30 pm tour instead. I really want the morning one, so I rescheduled for a different date.
Yesterday I got another email, and for whatever reason, they moved us again to 1:30 pm. No morning slot exists for the 8 days we will be in Rome, they are all booked.
I would really like to see the underground, arena floor and third tier, so the current options are:
1) take the 1:30 pm tour – I know we’re in vacation, but this messes up the rest of the day schedule
2) take the similar tour offered by some other company. Can you suggest one that includes the Coosseum (underground, arena floor and third tier), Roman Forum and Palatine Hill?
Thanks

There should be someone that speaks English. You have to call during Italian working hours. If you are staying at a hotel, you could ask your hotel to book it for you.
While this link says only March/April are available, it's more likely the website has not been updated.

The website has now been updated. I called the Colosseum directly this morning and booked an underground tour for May. I asked for an English speaking operator and she was very helpful. I had no problem getting the date and time that I wanted and have received my email confirmation.

If you scroll down to the bottom of this page you can see the Underground tour saying April 18-June 30. When you click it, the next screen still isn't updated.

if you'd not been able to reschedule, I'd have suggested spending at least part of the morning at the Doria Pamphilij gallery and museum on the via Del Corso. it's divided into two sections - the family rooms on which the audio guide does a fascinating commentary, and then the gallery which has all manner of treasures, including many works which you are bound to recognise.
plus there are comparatively few people there, and it's reasonably close to the colosseum. Perhaps you can fit it into another part of your schedule? Everyone that I have mentioned it to has loved it!

My question to Walks of Italy is why are they moving your reservation? And moving it twice? The tour is obviously not being cancelled. It smells like you are getting bumped for someone else.
I don't think they want to get a reputation for bumping tour participants. I would try posting on their FB page and tweeting them until you get a satisfactory resolution.
