SkyEurope...Has anyone flown from Bratislava to Paris
Hi
Just wondering if anyone has had the experience of flying SkyEurope from Bratislava to Paris? If so, is it a relatively easy travel from Prague to Bratislava to catch the flight? Are the trains reliable? I plan on going in January. Initially the trip was just to Paris, but we thought we would extend a few days to meet some friends in Prague for New Year's. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I have traveled in Slovakia and Czech Republic back in 1998 and the trains were not as "efficient" as some of the rest of Europe. Just wondering if things have improved. How much time should I plan for travel to make the flight etc... Thanks

I think the trains are pretty efficient, but the train from Prague to Bratislava takes at least 4 1/2 hours and then you still have to get from the train station to the airport. I don't remember exactly how you do that.

Kristinelaine, thank you. I did not realize that it took 4 1/2 hours from Prague to Bratislava. Took the same route in '98 on a night train. so was not aware so much of the time passing
Thank you. What do you think about just taking the night train from Prague to Paris. It's around 14 hours. Between getting to the train station in Prague, getting to Bratislava airport, making the flight etc... it may just be easier to take the overnighter??

I think it makes a lot of sense to take the night train as long as you don't mind night trains. Sometimes I don't sleep well on them. But taking a 4.5 hr train trip to get TO the city where the airplane leaves from makes no sense to me. Hope you have a great trip.

Just wanted to point out that the Czech low-cost carrier SmartWings flies directly between Prague and Paris/CDG. If you have no other reason to go to Bratislava, they might be worth looking into. Looks like that route is about 30 - 50 Euro each way, depending on timing, if you book ahead. http://www.smartwings.net/en.
