Sicily without reservations end of October

We will be in Sicily October 26 - November 5. Do you think reservations in the Hotels and B&Bs are essential or we can do without them ( except may be the first night)?
Thanks!

This is way outside the holiday season, so the only problem you will encounter is that resort hotels are closed for the winter. If you're staying in town hotels, you certainly won't have a problem finding rooms. I've been to Sicily in December and stayed in Messina, Milazzo and Palermo without booking in advance.

If you are planning on Taormina and want a room with a view, you might consider booking in advance.

Thanks! I plan Taormina for that last three nights, so I will make reservations. I just want to be able to change our itinerary freely in case we want to stay somewhere longer or leave faster.

I agree about Taormina, if you want a better location. We like Villa Schuler.
