Short ski vacation in Innsbruck/Munich area

My husband has a business trip to Munich the first week in February, and my 16-yr-old son and I will be traveling with him. We are trying to squeeze in 3 days of skiing in the Innsbruck area, and would love to have some recommendations about ski resorts easy to get to from either Munich or Innsbruck airports. We want to stay 3 nights in the same place, close to the slopes. We are specifically looking for intermediate skiing with reliably good ski conditions, but don't want a small "ski hill" area.

Check Upper Zillertal or Stubaital and have a look at webcam pictures in order to find out wheter there is enough snow or not.

Nordkette is right there close to the center and the airport but depends on amount of snow. Anyway view from there is amazing. If you're up for more high altitude and a bit of driving (an 1 hours one way) I would always go to places around Solden (Hochgurgl and Obergurgl). It's always fun there and enough snow. Cheers.

Thanks for your help! After looking into it, we will probably ski at least one day at Stubai glacier. We are trying to decide whether it would be best to stay right there near the glacier and ski 2-3 days there, or stay in Innsbruck, take the shuttle, and ski different places each day. Thoughts?

There are more slopes than just the glacier in Stubai valley - four ski regions, including the glacier. And a bus connecting them in the valley. And a ski pass valid for all regions plus a few bonuses like the bus. So you can stay, for example, in Fulpmes and try out each ski region without having to commute back and forth to Innsbruck.
It may also have the advantage that you can rent your equipment just once for x days. And not line up to rent and return every single day. If you opt for staying in Stubaital, you get the transfer by bus or tram from/to Innsbruck for free.
You can find more information at www.stubai.at/en
