Does anyone have personal experience with any wineries in or near San gimignano? I will get to San Gimignano there by bus from Florence so i will not have the option to driving to anywhere. Just wondering which wineries are good there? Thanks.

San Gim is not a big wine area but a goggle search produced several wineries/albergos which are in the village. I have no experience with any of them.
San G is known for it Vernaccia. It's a DOCG wine. I would imagine there are some tours you can book at the tourist office in San G.
What do you hope to do?
If tasting and buying wines then an enoteca in town will be better. Vernaccia is a white wine.
San G is a darling, tiny town of towers. We just strolled around, and were not on a quest for any particular wines.
We did have wine and salads at a pleasant wine bar, overlooking the hills. It was called Enoteca di Vinorum, Pza Cisterna 30.
I did a wine tasting and had a bite to eat at the Convent wine shop in San Gim.

On their tourism website, they list tours on Tuesday and Thursday for 20€, but I'm sure there are others.

Hi, I have been in San Gimignano last summer with my fiancèe and our aim was visiting cellars along the wine roads. Fortunately we didn't book anything in advance but the hotel and we arrived we discovered they used to organize wine tour as well. We travel by private bus and an expert 'prepared' ourselves during the trip, telling us about wine, its production, tips to taste it in the best way, how to hold the glass and so on. When we arrived in cellars we all seemed to be professional winemakers and it has been really amusing! You can take a car and do it by yourself if you love to get lost in the country, because Tuscany is beautiful in every corner, but if you really want to experience a 'D.O.C.' tasting, I suggest you should rely on an expert. Hi, Over a year ago we stayed in an Agriturismo extremely close to the ancient town of San Gimignano, easily walkable about 1km away. This Agriturismo is a huge estate and it produces wine and extra virgin olive oil. They gave us a tour around the winery, showing us the barrels etc, and giving us info how they make it, and we tasted their wine. You can also buy their wine and olive oil. They did not make a proper wine tasting for us with food etc, as we were the only ones, and we did not request it anyway as we only wanted to go around the cellars and buy some wine, but they do make it, there is even a seating area near their wine cellars for it.
The Agriturismo is called Palagetto di Sotto, I would suggest you have a look at website. We did not have dinners there, as it was Christmast time and in Winter they only offer breakfast, but reviewers gave them very high scores to their dinners.
This Agriturismo has the loveliest views of the surrounding countryside, yet so very close to San Gimignano town. I would highly recommend it. Ask the owner for directions to it if interested. They have a good website. Enjoy it!!!
