Rome to Civitavecchia Port

We plan on taking the train from Rome to Civitavecchia to catch a cruise. How far is the train station from the Port? Any info is appreciated. Thank you.

It's a hike, especially with all your luggage. By a hike, 1-2 miles depending upon which pier they are docked at.

I would take a taxi from the train station to the pier.

Having said that, we just pulled into Civitavecchia for a port visit. I'm assuming that you will be embarking and debarking in Civitavecchia. The cruise ship might have busses available for the transfer of you and your luggage to/from the train station to the pier. I could call the cruise ship line to find out.

That should read: "I would call the cruise ship line to find out."

Thanks! I'll call them. I think they might have shuttles from the Port entrance to the ship--not necessarily from the train station--at least that's what was from the last cruise--from another line...As time gets closer I'll find out....Do the taxi's give u a bad time just from the station to the ship???

It's been 3 years since I visited Civitavecchia. Hopefully someone who has recently cruised from Civitavecchia can give you some updated information.

I would also post this on the Cruise Forum. It might help in getting more info. Good luck & have a great cruise.
