Reviews of Thrifty Car Rental in Pisa
Has anyone had any experience using Thrifty car rental at the Pisa Airport? How was the experience? I am really asking because I didn't have a great experience with them in Rome about 10 years ago and am a little leery about using them again but their prices are pretty good through Autoeurope. Please offer advice . Thanks

I can't vouch specifically for them, but if Autoeurope is using them, and that is where I wanted to pick up/drop off a car, I would be fine with it. I expect the Pisa airport facility will be considerably less busy than Rome. Are you leery because of the people you worked with, the level of service, the availability of vehicles, the quality of vehicle, or what? Is it something you fear permeates the company philosophy or standards, or was it just a bad day for someone?

I warn against using Thrifty who at Pisa are associated with Dollar, Auto Europa ad Sicily by Car. We hired in July 2013 and believe we have been scammed. Our car was hired out to us with dents in three out of four corners. Eefore driving away we immediately reported other dents - they said 'no problem' -however when we got home found we have been charged 600 euros for bogus repairs. On top of that we returned the tank full as agreed - and have been charged an additional 75 euros for fillng the tank. All charges being disputed. in 25 years of hiring cars regularly I have never experienced anything like this.
