Renting Paris Apartment

I plan to rent an apartment in Paris for 2 weeks, I just not sure which agency to start. What should I look for in renting an apartment?
Is it possible to get a place 'downtown' if my budget is 130 euro per day?
Any suggestion of apartment/agency to start with?
Thanks.

What is, "downtown"? What district(s) are you talking about? How many people? We have an apartment thread that can be accessed through the Search Box. Happy Travels!

madmatt, You do not stipulate exactly when you require an apartment - If its this year you may still find vacancies towards Nov/Dec. You will find a calendar with each apartment on view and can see the available times.

We are renting this apartment in August for 2 weeks (directly from the owners) and it is well within you budget. Here's the link: http://www.vrbo.com/103254

We are staying at a studio at the moment and really like it. Reasonably priced and good location.

We rented through VIP Vacation in Paris and had no problems at all. I like VIP because we didn't have to pay a large security deposit, they have an insurance that you buy for, if I remember correctly, $35 that covers any damage, and a key deposit of $150 that was promptly refunded when they received our keys.

We had a lovely time, we loved our apartment. We rented:
http://www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_08.htm
it was perfect for two people, I can't imagine 4 people being comfortable in it though.

The rental cost for this apt is $140 to $160 per night depending on time of year, you are close to the street market of Rue Cler, with a boulangerie across the street and a wine store next door. It is right on the #69 bus route and a 10 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. We loved the neighborhood.

The two things to watch for in the apt listings are:
1. whether or not there is a real bed or if you are to sleep on a fold out couch. I don't think I would have enjoyed Paris nearly as much if I had not been able to have a good nights sleep after a long day of walking everywhere. I'm too old for a sofabed.

2. If the bed is a "Loft" make sure to check the photos out carefully to see if the ladder to the loft is something you are comfortable takling in the middle of the night, in the dark. Some of the loft ladders looked really scarey to me, I know I would fall off the ladder and break my neck. But then again, I've been know to fall regularly, in a large number of the World's cities.

www.rentparis.com has several options within your budget. Most are in the Marais/ Beaubourg area. We have used them several times and their properties do the job for the price.
