Reasonably priced hotel in Munich

Friends are looking for a reasonably priced Hotel in Munich to spend one night. Probably in the 100 Euro price range. Any ideas?

We stayed at the Deutches Theatre Hotel... I liked it. It is close to the railroad station (I don't speak a grunt of german...)

We stayed 5 nights at the Hotel Laimer Hof near Nymphenberg Castle (a 15 min tram ride from the center of town) for 85 euros per night, breakfast included.

Then on our last night in Germany before our flight home, we stayed at the Kings Hotel on Dachauer strasse (a block or so from the main train station) for 89 euros, breakfast not included.

We always stay at Hotelissimo Haberstock. Very close to the train station. Price is 98 Euros for a double including big breakfast buffet. 3* Fax 49 89 550 36 34. Also there is an Easy Internet across the street from the train station and next to it is Herties, a huge nice department store.

Hotel Drei Lowen not far from the train station is decent in that price range.

I stayed in a modest but clean & well run Holiday Inn on Enlischerstrasse in Bogenhausen (I think) - under E100. You can walk about 5 blocks through a nice nbhd to the Arabellapark UBahn station.

Our last night in Munich (last Thursday) was spent at the Einhorn Hotel. It's a half-block from the main train station on the south side. Seems to be a "tourist hotel"... Small rooms (what's new in Europe?) but a very nice buffet breakfast, clean and well-kept. They did have a sign up when we were there that their debit/credit card machine was busted so please pay in cash... we were prepaid so no worries. They frown on doing laundry in the rooms.

When are they going? September is Octoberfest there at the last 2 weeks of that month. It will get cheaper after that everyone is back off of vaccation and in school. Look at a little over 100 euro's and make sure you have your own bathroom too.

Check out the Platzl Hotel. It is located next to the Hofbrauhaus and rates can sometimes be found in the 100 Euro range.

I've also used Priceline and have gotten rooms at both the Marriott and the Renaissance for around $70. Both are located in Schwabing, but are convenient to the U-Bahn.

Deuthes Theater and Drei Lowen are nice and in you price range. Also consider the Uhland hotel near the Oktoberfest grounds (10 minutes walk from the bahnhof. I suspect the Platzl will be above your price range. Check OctopusTravel.com for pictures (not always the best rates but good pictures).
