Paris itinerary and markets

My wife and I will be in Paris for about 5 days total (3 days at the beginning of our trip and 2 days at the end). We will spend a total of two weeks in France (May 12-25).

Here's what I have so far for a Paris itinerary:

Friday May 12
-arrive CDG 9AM
-check into Hotel Bonsejour
-Tour Eiffel
-Arc du Triomphe
-Sacre Coeur
-dinner Paris Boheme

Saturday May 13
-Louvre
-Notre Dame
-dinner La Colimacon or Les Copains d'Abord

Sunday May 14
-Musee D'Orsay
-Champs-Elysses
-Jardin Tuileries
-dinner Le Petit St. Benoit or Le Pre Verre
-jazz at Caveau des Oubliettes or Le Franc Pinot

Monday May 15 to Monday May 22
-Cote D'Azure 2.5 days
-Provence 3 days
-Burgundy 1.5 days

Monday May 22
-arrive by TGV 8PM
-check into Hotel Cluny Sorbonne
-dinner Les Pipos or Au Bistro de la Sorbonne

Tuesday May 23
-Musee Picasso
-St Chapelle
-lunch picnic in Jardin Luxembourg
-shop rue du Faubourg & St. Honore
-dinner Aux Lyonnais or La Cave de l'Os a Moelle

Wednesday May 24
-President Wilson Market
-???
-dinner Chez Paul or L'Avant Gout or Chartier

Thursday May 25
-maybe squeeze in one last market
-11AM flight -CDG

What do you think? I've tried to leave some space to relax.

Which market do you like better President Wilson or Saxe Breteuil? Because I can switch the first Saturday and the last Wednesday to go to Saxe Breteuil if it's better or try to go early on the last Thursday.

Well Arc de Triopmhe and Champs Elysee and Tuileries are the ~ same location, and then you are at Louvre... so group them together. Orsay (& Rodin) are near Eiffel Tower, perhaps combine them.

St Chapelle is right next to Notre Dame. Add Ile St Louis to Notre Dame

No Seine cruise?

Day 1, if you are going to Sacre Coeur (for the view), maybe need bit more time to see Montmartre?

I like the fact you have not overbooked your days.

I'd suggest this
D1:
Eiffel, Orsay
D2:
Arc, Elysee, Tuileries, Louvre (peek at Garnier, Madeleine, Palais Royal)
D3
St Chap
Notre Dame
Ile St Louis
Rodin

Other 2 days, leave as is. Add perhaps night Seine Cruise, maybe classical concert. Walk along St Germain (Buci market). Mouffetard market.

You will never make your flight AND go to the market.
On Wednesdays and Sundays we like the pl. Monge market.
The Saxe Breteuil market is supposed to be the best food market I have heard. It's on my next to do list.

I swear I responded on another thread to this same question but now it does not show up!

Saxe Bretuil is IMO a better market than Pres Wilson..even better is Richard Lenoir, nr Bastille on Sundays and Thus

I think anyone with an itinerary like this is definitely a Type A personality.

It's funny that you make that comment, because all my friends think I'm type B to a fault (very laid back, never the leader).

I do like to research and plan though. I'm not sure how that plays into personality types though.

Aggie, May 25th is Ascension Day so things will be on a holiday schedule. Not sure if you were aware of that. Deborah

oh, thanks for that bit of info! I did not realize the 25th was a holiday.

I'll check the holiday train schedule to CDG.

Thanks again!
