Norway- 1 week trip in May

Hello,
I am thinking about going to Norway this spring, specifically the middle of May. I was wondering if someone could help with an itinerary? I am thinking no more than 10 days.
Thanks!

I would spend a couple of days in Oslo, visiting Viglandspark, and then the Bydoy peninsula for the museums, and possibly Holmenkollen.

I would then head north to the fjord region - Sognefjord and Naerowfjord are lovely and you can then travel on to Bergen. The Norway in A Nutshell tour covers much of this area so its also a chance to see or stay in some of the pretty fjordside villages like Aurland and Flam.

If you want head further north eg Tromso, then I don't know that area, though think you probably have time for that two - say 3 days in each location?

10 days will be tight if you added anything more then Oslo. the Nutshell and Bergen...a little more tme could add Trondheim and Alesund. I favor The Lofotens but only if you stretch the time factor. Here is a cross section of what you can see and do in Norway (but bear in mind, we're talking close to 30 days). You can pick and choose, of course. You'll love Norway. Springtime should be nice...we did it in Aug=Sept and it was still chilly (jackets and sweaters)going further north.

You might want to take a look at my trip report. We stayed a little longer, but did a 5-6 day drive through fjord country plus Bergen for a couple of days and Oslo for another. Our stay was not much longer than what you are projecting. Click on my name to find the report.

Another thought. If you decide to travel through the fjords, you might want to skip the Norway in a Nutshell combination and arrive in Bergen early enough to see some of the city.

Are you considering driving or using public transport?
