Norway Help!

Planning a trip to Scandinavia next June and recently read a travel log that is making me rethink my initial plan
We were going to do Oslo to Bergen via Norway in Nutshell and then spend three days in Bergen --but if I was able to move my days around and get an extra day in Norway perhaps we should skip the nutshell and go from Oslo to Geiranger spend two days in Geiranger then day three down to bergen and two days in Bergen or one day in Bergen and then NIN back to Oslo
Which way would we get more scenic wows... it might be crazy to do all that as we will not have much time to slow down and chill but if its worth it we might consider it.Interested in hearing others thoughts
Thank you

I think that the couple hour tour of Geiranger is more impressive than the NIN, but it does not have the train ride. If you are fit and are a hiker, you might want to check on the possibility of visiting the historic farms perched in the middle of the cliffs of Geiranger fjord. The tour boat stopped to let hikers go up to the farms, and from there they could hike back to Geiranger proper, but I do not know how strenuous that would be.

Its possible that I could do a circle.. Oslo to Geiranger..Geiranger to Bergen and then the NIN or just a train from Bergen to Oslo or I could do the reverse or skip the Nor In Nut altogether.. the 12 hr NIN day trip looks lovely but exhausting.. just wondering if we would be biting off more than we can chew.. right now I have 5 days one for Oslo and the other 4 was to do the NIN to Bergen and then have tree days in Bergen before heading for Stockholm.. but I might be able to grab one more day from the rest of out trip and get 6 days which would give us one day in Oslo and then 5 days to do whatever else... not sure if 5 days is enough to do Bergen and geiranger or if its too much to do in that time
We would be moving all about with our luggage too and even though we plan on taking a large backback each and a small carry on.. its still lugging things around with you.

Take a look at my trip report where we did the NIN from Oslo to Bergen and then drove from Bergen to Trondheim in 5 or 6 days. Click on my name to find it.

Rent a car and view the countryside. We spent 1 and 1/2 days in Bergen ( which was enough) and 5 days driving around (up to Balestrand over on the 55 to Luster and drove over the snow road to Flam.) The least enjoyable part of the trip was the ferry from Flam ( which is part of NIN) due to the crowds. We saw so much more driving. We also got to hike to glaciers and waterfalls, stay in some gorgeous places and meet some wonderful people. We didn't get to Geiranger but we still saw spectacular scenery. I don't think we missed out by not taking the train in Flam. If you love crowds do NIN. If not go on your own. Driving was very easy.
