Need Amsterdam hotel
My reservation at the Rembrandt Residence fell through. I'm visiting Amsterdam with my teenage daughter and husband - any hotels with good location and triple rooms?
Thanks!

i'm not sure if they have triples, but my stay at the Swissotel Amsterdam was pleasant. Another place to try is the hotel across the street, Krasnapolsky. They're both located on Dam Square, 1 brisk 10 minute walk from Centraal Station, or a 1+ minute tram ride.

Seagirl, I usually checkout www.hotel-booker.com and see where I can find the best rates. I've gotten good deals at Hotel American (my favorite - great location) and the Barbizon Palace. Krasnopolsky comes up on there often with good rates as well.

We just stayed at the Hotel Fita. Excellent! The room we were in was a double but could have fit a rollaway bed. It is within a 100 yards or so of the Van Go Museum on a very quiet street. Their website is www.fita.nl Again, excellent!

seagirl,
Was just there last week. I use CityMundo to rent apartments, and would NEVER stay in a hotel again. For less than $150, you can get a beautiful one bedroom apartment, or even a houseboat. Highly recommended, great website.

I found my hotel thru www.amsterdamhotspots.nl. It was my 1st trip to A'dam & I much preferred the areas of Leidseplein, Vondelpark, or the Jordaan over "central" near the Dam. To my eye, far nicer atmosphere and welcoming neighborhoods. Cleaner, friendlier, less crowded than the noise, hussle & bussle surrounding the train station.

I loved hetel de munk, the have a web page, GREAT location, quite area near a park, but not too far from the action breakfast included, the owners were VERY nice and HELPFUL, they also spoke execellent english. The rates were reasionable. My room was on the large side, with a clean bathroom hairdryer, and even a balcony. There was not lift and the stairs were steap, but i plan on staying their next time i go back

The Ambassade is moderate to expensive and in the same Canal Ring neighborhood as the Rembrandt Residence. No two rooms are alike, some are truly quirky but the whole hotel is beautiful and full of character. The staff includes porters who amazed me by hauling luggage up the tiniest and steepest staircases with ease.
