Naples airport to Capri
Hi,
Our hotel is offering transportation service from Naples airport to the hotel on Capri for E150. How much do you think it would cost me to take a taxi from the airport to the ferry port, then take the ferry, then get from the main port in Capri to the Hotel Punta Tragara?
Do you think I should just take the hotel up on their offer?

There is an airport bus that goes directly to Municipio. It is a special bus with plenty of room for luggage and cost a couple euros (I forget exactly). It's very easy. At Municipio, you get off the bus and go one block to the port where you catch the next boat to Capri -- generally there are lots of choices. In Capri it costs little to have your luggage taken to the hotel and you ride the funicular up.
I'm guessing the whole thing would cost maybe 20 to 25 euros per person.
I preferred taking the bus to Municipio rather than a taxi. Yes, you read that right -- and not because of the cost.

In June, we took the bus from the airport to Piazza Municipio for 3€ per person, the hyrofoil from Naples to Capri for about 11€ per, and the funicular from Marina Grande to Capri Town for about 1€ per, and we hired a porter to transport our bags to our hotel for about 8€ per bag- so about 23€ each. Just like Patrick said....
I don't know how much a taxi would cost. I've seen about 20€ mentioned here. The bus was very easy; it is right outside the arrivals area of the airport, but you do have to walk several blocks with luggage once you get off at Piazza Municipio.

Gee, I'm better at guessing than I thought!
There was some major construction going on at Municipio when we were there last year, perhaps the stop we got off wasn't the usual one (it did seem temporary), but it was only one block to the main street which separates the port from the rest of the city.

Hi Forestsal, E105 sounds terribly expensive. We took a taxi from our hotel in Naples to the dock and caught the hdrofoil to Capri. In our case the hotel in Anacapri had a porter from the hotel meet us and take us to the hotel. I personally don't think you need to spend E105. Do have a beautiful trip!!!
