Mary Poppins tickets London

I am going to London with my 11 year old daughter in June and need tickets to see Mary Poppins. Where do I go to get them? I have seen a couple of websites, but one won't let me buy them this early and the other one I don't trust. I needed a trusty website. It is at the Prince Edward Theater--are the stalls ok there? or should I sit somewhere else?
THANKS!

You may not want to hear this but unless you are determined to try to get last-minute tickets or you prefer to pay a brokerage fee, spend the money and make a direct call to the theatre box office. You'll get the best choice of what's available for your date, too.

I agree with Intrepid that calling the box office directly is the best way to get tickets. But if you still want to buy tickets online, try www.delfont-mackintosh.com (the website of the theatre operator that owns the Prince Edward).

For a detailed discussion of which seats to buy and which seats to avoid at the Prince Edward (and all other West End theatres), see www.theatremonkey.com.

We will be seeing Mary Poppins next month in London. I called the theater directly and booked through them. I did go to the theatermonkey.com website before calling - lots of great information about best seats, etc. They mailed the tickets directly to my house (we live in the US).

Note, some of the brokerages make you pick up your tickets at their location, which may not be near you or the theater.

You may also be able to pick the tickets up at the box office the evening of the performance. This is what I will be doing in April when I'll be in London and seeing three different shows. If you deal directly with the box office they can also tell you about alternative dates which might offer better seats, too.

Believe me, it is worth the phone call.

If you do call the box office, remember that they're only there during regular business hours in London, so be sure to take the time difference into account when you call. I'm in the eastern time zone of the U.S., and I find that the best time to call is around 8 a.m., just before I leave for work in the morning.

Yes, definitely call the theatre box office. As for the stalls - that is what is called Orchestra in the States - therefore the best/most expensive seats, along w/ the front of the Dress Circle (first balcony)

When you are talking to the box office they can direct you to the best seats available.

If you know now that you want to attend a performance of Mary Poppins, I think it is worth the phone call, and do it NOW. If you wait, your dates may be sold out.

We were in London last summer and made a last minute decision that we wanted to see Mary Poppins. The theater itself had no tickets left. Because we had not planned ahead for a popular musical, we had to buy from a ticket broker at a premium price.

I have no regrets over my decision at all even if I paid a little more than I could have with better anticipation.

Mary Poppins is a wonderful experience and the production we saw was ultra first class.

Next time, I will plan ahead and save a few dollars!!

I am passing along my experience so you will know the situation better and, once informed, you can act in a manner most appropriate for your circumstances.

You will not regret it.

If you are in the mood for another play, for less money, I can recommend the Mousetrap. It has been running for a long, long time -- more than 53 years.

I think it is safe to say that this production has stood the test of time.

Even if you have read the book, the play brings it to life, and the acting is so first rate that you will enjoy every moment of it.

Nothing quite like the London stage.
