Theater tickets Phantom of the Opera
I will be in London in May. I checked on line for tickets and found I can get them on line in the "Stalls" section of Her Majesty's Theatre. Can anyone comment about this section? Good choice?
Thank you.

The stalls is the main floor (usually called the orchestra in the States)
Phanton doesn't usually sell out but if you need a specific date, then I'd go ahead and pre-book. Otherwise - you can get tix after you are in London - even at the TKTS 1/2 price booth.

While the stalls are like the US "orchestra", I finally saw Phantom in London for the front row of the first mezzanine (called the Royal Circle). If you can possibly get tickets in that row -- run, do not walk to get them.
I'm not sure where you were looking online, but you can call the theatre direct, discuss tickets with them and ask for that row (I bet you can get it now for May1) and they'll hold the tickets for you there without paying any Ticketmaster or other fees. The best way to go.
Yes, you can probably get discounted seats if you wait a month or so before going, but I guarantee you those Row A Royal Circle seats are fantastic for this show and worth paying the full price.
The number to call is 20 7087 7500. To save money, if you are in the US, pick up the phone and dial 101-6868-011-44-20-7087-7500. The call will cost you about 5 cents a minute.

Hi Kate222
The stalls or ground floor and the 1st level Royal Circle are ok, any higher there could be limitations to what you are able to see on stage, as some of the scenes are high up. Not a massive problem but one to avoid if you can.
Also there are pillars in the royal circle that can obstruct, this is stated on the website when your booking them, just look out for it when you order them.
Having booked the tickets through their own website you can collect them easily from the theatre.
Good Luck

I too use theatremonkey, but don't always agree. For example they often point out that the front row of Royal Circle in some theatres has limited leg room -- yet I find it no worse than in most of the stalls. And since there are no heads in front of you, I find those front row Circle seats FAR better than second or third row Circle, where if the people in front of you lean forward, your view is totally blocked. Generally speaking London theatre seats are notoriously small and have very limited leg room. For comfort, go to the National Theatre!
