Looking for place to stay in London
We will be staying in London for 2 nights prior to flying to Napoli for a week in Italy. Looking for some advice on where to stay, with easy access to airport and to the city. We want to do some sightseeing and take in a show in the evening. Also are there recommended websites for booking tickets for London Theatre? Also we will be flying back and spending one last evening in London before flying home to the states...someone recommended staying closer to the airport on the return leg...perhaps Windsor...does that make any sense and if so suggestions are also welcome for hotels in that area. Thanks. Melissa

What's your budget for the hotel? What do you consider "easy access" to the airport?
Most airports are fairly far flung and there's no point in sleeping anywhere near them -- I'd strongly suggest staying close in the center of the city to get the most of your time in London, not commuting into the city so you can have a short ride to the airport your last day...
Happy travels,
Jules

"<i>budget is moderate, not too pricey, but nice.</i>"
You haven't given us any help at all. What is your budget? One person's "moderate" is someone elses dirt cheap.
Especially in an expensive city like London one would need to know your target budget in order to give you any sort of useful advice.
As for where to stay the last night - a LOT depends on what time you ongoing flight is. And are all your flights through LHR?

Hi DiSegno (Melissa)
Which London airport? That could make a difference in which hotel is convenient. Thanks in advance for clarification, so we all can help with more specific suggestions.
For $80/night via Priceline bid, I stayed in a lovely room at the Millenium Gloucester. It is VERY convenient: a short block from Gloucester Road Tube (Underground) Station, with easy, direct access to Heathrow Airport, as well as to many spots around London.

Theater? Decide which show you want to see. Try their website for tickets. I have booked tickets by telephone for boxoffice pickup. I also learned to use a theater seating plan! A tout sold us wonderful seats..last row at the back of the last balcony! A return ticket line may also get you seats to shows that are sold out!
