London's rainy forecast for May 24-31

According to http://www.onlineweather.com/v4/uk/c...n_outlook.html it appears we will have rain every day in and around London.

What fun!

How could anyone possibly predict with accuracy the weather up to 2 weeks away? The weather forecasters around here can't the forecast right for the next day!

I wouldn't worry about it yet.

I wouldn't worry about this just yet. You're still over a week away and these predictions are often wrong.

If it does rain, I doubt it will be all day or anything like that, it'll probably just be odd showers.

But who knows? At the moment we're enjoying 70+ degrees here in London, it's not expected to last though. You can't let the weather ruin a trip to London.

I wouldn't worry about the forecast. We just came back from London and Scotland and the weather forecast was always wrong. We ended up having three gorgeous days of sunshine and the other seven were off and on rain. Don't let it ruin your trip - it usually doesn't downpour, so you can still sightsee without the weather interfering. Just pack accordingly- a waterproof jacket and perhaps some rain pants if you do any hiking sidetrips.

Iris,

You will fit in quite well since talking about the weather is a national pasttime in the UK ;-)

If you've ever listened to/watched a "Met" forecast, you might hear something like this:

"Rain today, with periods of brightening later. Cool with occasional clouds, but warm at times. Tomorrow heavy rain, followed by drought, except in flood areas."

OK, I exaggerate, but the point is to expect on all kinds of weather during your visit. Plan for rain and enjoy anything better. And go with the knowledge that weather forecasting remains imprecise, especially on a big island like the UK.

My favorite forecasts are those that include different types of rain:

"Rain expected, with intermittent showers"

It rained every single day when we were in London last month (7 days), and the weather never stopped us! We still had an awesome time. We brought raincoats and umbrellas and we were perfectly fine. There is so much to do indoors (musuems, the Abbey, etc.) that it would usually be raining when we entered a site, and then it would stop by the time we were back in the streets again. Don't worry about it.

Got back yesterday from a week in England (London and Dorset). Before we left, I checked the online forecasts and they all predicted cloudy weather, some showers, daytime temps in the low 60's. What we actually had was beautiful blue sky and sunshine every day, and temps in the mid 70's!

Only downside was that I of course had too many cool/wet weather clothes, and very little for warm sunny weather. A nice problem to have, so we didn't mind. And because there was a LOT of rain a few weeks ago, everything was very green and lush. England at its prettiest.

Rain was predicted for every day we were in London (March 12-24), but it only rained hard for half of one day, and sprinkled/showered a little, but mostly sunny!

So, don't give up hope - it could be great weather! (Besides, it is London, who cares about a little rain?)

Have fun!
