London Hotel for Weekend

My husband and I are planning a weekend trip
to London - this will be a getaway, rather
than a big splurge. We are interested in
finding a moderately priced small hotel
convenient to the center of things - we
expect to go to a couple of museums, including Cabinet War Rooms and the Tate
Modern. Any recommendations would be greatly
appreciated.

Would suggest the Express by Holiday Inn Southwark behind the Tate Modern.
The London discount sites have a special weekend room rate at the moment of 69 GBP per night including breakfast

Try the Reubens at the palace. They have several get away packages.

If you're flying out of JFK, check out the packages at ba.com - they almost always offer some kind of smokin' deal. Their prices out of other portal cities aren't really competitive.

The location doesn't matter much, because you can get anywhere in town in 10 minutes by bus or Tube.
