local restaurants along the french riveria
Hi, we will be traveling to Nice, France this September and would love to visit excellent local restaurants instead of the tourist traps? Can you please recommend several? We are open to most of the towns such as Antibes, Cannes, Nice, Monte Carlo, St. Paul de Vence, Cap Ferrat and St. Laurent....we are staying in Beaulieu Sur Mer...any other recommendations will be appreciated.....we will be there for 7 days...

I don't know, sometimes I really like what you'd call tourist traps, because the food is really good and the restaurant can't escape being located in an area that is frequented by tourists (mostly French tourists, depending on the area).
But one place, away from the hoardes in the summer in Juan les Pins is La Gravette. On the other side of the park away from the sea, across the street from a car park (parking is fairly easy on the side streets, even in summer).
In Nice, in old town, touristy as all get out and go, and the food is hit and miss, but the atmosphere and people watching make it a lot of fun. My rec, wherever you go, is avoid the high priced places which in my view are not that much better, and have a dinner consisting of salad, pizza and a cheap bottle of Cotes de Provence rose (which is very dry, not sweet)at a place where people are eating this type of food that looks good to you. And for the pizza, do not forget to add the pepper oil.

The Wandering Epicures blog has almost 150 restaurant reviews in their Cote d'Azur section; the writer has a holiday residence in Beaulieu. Reviews are mainly of high-end establishments but are thorough and well photographed.
