Local Living Rome- G adventures

Hello everyone,

I am torn between joining another tour rome-florence-cinque terre-venice and just staying in rome. I am not very much interested in venice and florence given the time that I have (only 7 days all in all) and I feel like it would be rushed so I am on the edge of just staying in Rome and maybe do a day trip to Pompeii or Naples. (will leave florence and venice and rest of ITaly for another time).
I have looked into getting an apartment or getting a hotel, however I like the idea that with G adventures local living, I will be with a group of people and I can do our own thing or I can join then to go do an activity. I know it's a hit or miss but this is what I am looking for more insights about.

G adventures apartment is close to vatican whereas the apt I am looking into is close to Pantheon. The price difference is not significant, own apt- smaller but solo, G adventures- sharing room but bigger apt.

Inputs? Thank you.

When we see a first time poster mentioning a specific tour or travel company, the assumption is that this is an ad for that company. Especially when it's named in the title and three times in the post.

If this is'nt an ad then you are asking whether you should share accommodation with strangers or have the privacy of your own apartment. What do you prefer?

You're going to share an apartment with strangers? Do you get your own bathroom? You can get a hotel room on your own and join walking tour if you want to be with a bunch of strangers. It doesn't look very appealing to me.

A no brainer in my opinion. Your own apartment definitely.
Why share with complete strangers?

This is not an ad. Thank you for all your responses. The reason why I put the name of the company is because I want to see if there is anybody who have done the same tour. I have looked online for many hours and days to look for a review however hasn't seen one. Im thinking that this is probably something new that they offer, although I have seen such tours but in other parts of italy. The difference is that the activity they offer. I was leaning on joining a houseful of tourists, like having the idea that I wont be completely alone. ( I have done such prior, when I volunteered abroad, shared the volunteer house with 15 other people and we became like a family). I m sorry if i mentioned the name of the company too many times. I have been a long member-more like a lurker of this forum since 2007, just havent posted before. thanks again for the time to answer my question.

It's fine to put the name of the company. How else can you get feedback?

I looked at the Rome trip and don't see much activity. There's an orientation walk and one dinner. There are optional activities but that's the same as taking a walking tour with any company. It's not clear if this company does the tours or if they vend them out to a third party. Your apartment mates may or may not choose to do this; you can't count on becoming fast friends with them. Of course it may happen that you all get along and hang together but it's not something definite.

Did you notice that the CEOs will "occasionally tag along to show you the best spots." There is no frequency mentioned.

I see in the prices that the bathroom is shared.

If you think that this is something you might like then go for it. I haven't noticed any mention of this company before but not that many people who post on fodor's take group or escorted trips.

Thank you adrienne for pointing out things I haven't thought of, like optional activities and when the Ceo's will only tag occasionally. I have thought of the group being a hit or miss but now I think Im not getting "more" if I do this, I might as well just get my own place.
and as others have said, i'll just join walking tours in Rome.
Thank you everyone.
