Great photos Sandi! I especially liked your family photo in Venice with the gondolas in the background; and the one from your balcony hotel. My friend Dawn and I will be staying at Leon Bianco and would love to hear your comments about it. Our room will be facing the side small canal.
Hi sandi! Thank you for posting your pictures and for the trip down memory-lane. Loved the picture in which the nuns are feeding the pigeons in St. Mark's. We also have similar pictures from the balcony at Locanda Leon Bianco in Venice. Nice view!

Regards,
Mariarosa

HI Sandi--Great pictures. Looks like you and your family had a wonderful trip. I especially liked your pix of Verona. I think I'm going to have to add it to my list of must-see towns in Italy. Also, thanks for the heads-up re Imagestation.com. Didn't know such a site existed!

Patti

Monica,

La Fortezza, in Assisi, is a 2 star hotel just off Piazza del Comune..steps from Basilica of Santa Chiara. Since there were 3 of us, we got a huge room with a full bath for $60. (US) a night. No breakfast inclu. The rooms were sparse but clean. The staff does not speak much English, but we all managed. At the bottom of all those steps, that lead from the hotel to the Piazza, is a lttle cafe with coffee and pasteries. It was a good location, and a good deal.

Sandi -
Wonderful photos! Thanks for sharing. What speed film did you use inside the museums ... since one can't use flash. I've tried on previous visits with not much luck, usually using 400ASA.
And thanks for introducing us to that website!

Monica,

They will allow you to enter the city in your car for a few minutes, to unload your luggage then you have to exit and go to the parking lots just outside the walls. If you go to their webiste at: http://www.lafortezzahotel.com/

there's a map which shows you what gate to enter and where the nearest parking is. I don't recall the cost.
